Super Street Fighter 4

What's up guys!
It seems like Street Fighter don't get too much love on dis site....

Anyways, Capcom has announced that its next Street Fighter incarnation is set for release on April 27th 2010. Super Street Fighter 4 is set to update and expand the hugely successful Street Fighter 4 that rekindled and redefined the fighting game genre in 2009.

New features include:
- Brand new Super and Ultra Combos for all characters with the option to choose
- New Stages, with some day/night and scenery changes
- New Rival Battles and Endings
- New online advancements and features to update one of the most robust online experiences for a fighter IMO.
- All of the alternate costumes from SF4 (unlocked from the start) plus new ones!
- A possible PSP release!

5. Juri (New Character to the series)
6. Guy
7. Dudley
8. Makoto
9. Ibuki

2009 was a big year for fighters with Tekken 6, BlazBlue etc, but this 2010 fighter may be the biggest for the year. I'm definitely getting this one, compared to some of the big fighters released last year (..ehem..cough..tekken 6..ehmm..), SF4 really had the total package, great replay value, tons of unlocks, great online play for even slow connections and a deep, rewarding and not to mention familiar fighting system. Other publishers can really take a page out of capcom's book when it comes to these elements.

Firstly, I fully agree with all SFIV is and all SSFIV has to offer. This is an amazing game and the perfect decision...attracting SFII gamers (aka returning to the roots of the best fighter of all time).

However I do hate SFIV as much as I praise it. It's not my game. I simply cannot play SFII and hence I cannot play SFIV to level I've seen Galactica's arcade players play at.
But still I praise it for Capcom's choice of direction.

But...Capcom is a greedy company and I'm pretty sure everybody knows that because Capcom themselves make it obvious. They make you feel robbed, cheated and screwed and yet that may be erased because of the quality games they release, even if the games are re-released again (or you buy DLC) with stuff that supposed to be in the initial release.

Anyways, I'm trying to sell my SFIV so I can buy SSFIV. I'm a SFAlpha freak and I support the additions of Cody, Guy and particularly Adon. I'm not a SF3 fan, but good business choice for adding some of its fighters.
Though I may buy SSFIV, I won't play it if R. Mika isn't added. SFAlpha3 has some of the best designed SF fighters ever since SFII....and here are some I'd like to see alongside the other Alpha characters:

- Sakura
- Gen
- Adon
- Guy
- Cody

BTW, Juri looks great. T. Hawk is a waste (who created that!?).
I think that SFIV had the worst 2-D animations (not to mention that awful movie that had no fights whatsoever and was apparently animated by kids). Seth as a boss is so childish; having moves of different fighters? What sort of design is that for a boss?

Lol, after bashing SFIV and Capcom. I still recommend getting SSFIV.

You raised some good arguments Sei.
But I still think Capcom has produced some of the best fighters to date.
I actually find myself playing a lot more SF4 these days, after all street fighter 2 gave me my start in competitive gaming back in the day. I still have sf2 turbo for my SNES, which I play to this very day.

I will admit that at first SF4 didn't really draw me in when I first brought it home. Sure the graphics were good and it was incredibly hyped, but none of the new characters captured my interest and Seth was annoying as a last boss. It was only when I checked youtube and saw some matches with Daigo (SF grand champion), Justin Wong and some of the tutorial combo vids that my interest peaked again.

Interesting side note:
I was at Galactica Gulf a few days ago, and I ran up about 8 or 9 wins on SF4 using some of the new features like, focus attacks, focus dash cancelling and ultra linked combos. This dude who kept losing to me challenged me to a game of tekken claiming that i couldn't beat him (lol). So I popped in a coin and beat him a couple times, then I lost to him which led him to tell me that "I was better at SF than tekken!!" Needless to say I felt insulted and outraged after putting in so many years of training in the tekken series. Perhaps I'm neglecting tekken these days since i'm acutally beating some of the SF pros.

But to your point, SFA3 was the most polished release of the alpha series, but it kinda got overshadowed by SF3 3rd Strike. IMO SFA2 was the star of that series at least in Trinidad. I can remember the epic battles that took place wherever that game was played.

But let's face it, we all get a bit gooey inside anytime a new street fighter is released, like it or not. Put Ryu in a game and Ppl will buy it! Right now I'm considering getting a Wii just to play Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Super Street Fighter 4 is definitely gonna kickstart 2010 for fighters.

Recently got SF4 at a steal of a deal...

is it me or does it seem MUCH more difficult than the past SFs? Maybe I'm getting too old for fighting games...lol
